Welcome to the Cinema - "Adrien Brody"

Excellent song, reminds of songs I like by Wilco. The video has a DIY-style with what looks like crayons, very cool.

Here is my favorite song by Wilco, Heavy Metal Drummer. This is a fan video, not the actual band members of Wilco in this video.

METRIC - "Help I'm Alive"

This is my favorite song the last few days, I first heard it on live 105 FM. When I first heard it I thought it might be the Breeders, or one of the Deal sisters from the Pixies; but it's actually the band Metric. Someday, we will all move to the metric system, and the world world will be the idealistic future place it should be.

And here is Breeders song with the Deal sisters for comparison:

Play him off, keyboard cat

The cat was recorded in the 80s, and now lives on to play off all sorts of silly people.

Candy Mountain

Get blazed on this fresh hip hop

This is just a demo, too bad he never got his big break.

I wonder if that video inspired this video:

Dancing Music Suit

I was watching "Music Instinct: Science and Song", very fascinating, seems there is such a connection between movement and music, so I thought it would be cool to have suit that makes music as you move. This Russian guy has built such a suit for himself.

Burning Man 2009 Montage

This video covers most of the big things at Burning Man this year. I think the slide was my favorite surprise for this year, I came across it late one night, I was amazed, and rode it about 6 times. Then I went exhausted back to my tent to sleep. I heard reports that lots of people got scraped skin, and someone broke a bone on the slide, I was a lucky one, considering I went down it twice standing up.

Very Punk Milli Vanilli Jean Jacket Vest

I created this Jacket for Burning Man 2008, will be rocking it again as my only costume in 2009. I have a DIY button kit I am using to make buttons of me wearing the jacket, and I put the buttons on my jacket to then give away in the "gift economy" at Burning Man.

For those that don't know or remember Milli Vanilli, they were players in the Great Pop Music Swindle. They won a Grammy in 1990 for Best New Artist, later the Grammy was taken away when it was revealed that they did not actually sings the songs that won them the Grammy. More on them at Wikipedia

Lunar Hammer with ProCon

I like the twist at the end of this video.

The surprise ending reminds me of that Prodigy Video Smack Bitch Up, one of my all time favorite bands, songs and video:
Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up (Banned From MTV) - kewego
This Prodigy clip was banned from MTV... Maybe too hot ? Otherwise it's really nice...

Michael Jackson is Dead

I can play Michael Jackson songs now, and not feel like I am promoting child molestation.

The Magnetic Fields - Time Enough For Rocking When We're Old

I usually like more upbeat songs, but this slow acoustic song rocks with baratone vocals.

Someone should do a dance remix of this song.

The Lryics

There'll be time enough for rocking when we're old
We can rock all day and rock in terms of cold
But tonight I think I'd rather just go dancing
There'll be time enough for rocking when we're old, my love

There'll be time enough for talking in nursing homes
Darling, time enough to write an epic poem.
But tonight I think I'd rather just go dancing
There'll be time enough for talking in the mall, my love

There'll be time enough for sleeping when we're dead
We will have a velvet pillow for your head
But tonight I think I'd rather just go dancing
There'll be time enough for sleeping when we're dead, my love

There'll be time enough for sex and drugs in hell
When our pheromones are turned up to eleven
But tonight I think I'd rather just go dancing
There'll be time enough for sex and drugs in heaven
And time enough for rocking when we're old

How to play the spoons

This is guy is so coordinated playing the spoons, that it's ironically funny that he bumps into the table at the beginning; I am glad he did not edit it out or do another take.

'Waiting', James Perry music video

This is a beautiful, multi-layered, lush song mixing rock, electronica, and strings. Not just orchestral strings, but the guy in the video is on puppet strings; very cool moody, insomnia drenched video, you can feel this guy is missing someone bad.

Excellent video Mareesa.

I created a Flying Spaghetti Monster sacrament in my kitchen

After reading on Boing Boing about inserting dry spaghetti into hotdogs, then cooking them; I was eventually over come by the spirit of his noodlelyness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and I was mystically inspired to create a pasta and meatball sacrament.

The pasta inside the meatball is a bit more al dente than the other pasta, it comes out divine.

Crystal Castles - Crimewave

This song is awesome! Crystal Castles got discovered by a record label when one of their songs leaked out onto the internet.

You may like this song, but beware, the album is very glichy IDM sort of stuff. Crystal Castles, like many electronica bands, can have a few amazingly awesome songs, but the their albums on a whole are not consistent. Hot Chip is one of the few electronica bands with solid albums from start to finish.

Flight Of The Conchords - The Humans Are Dead

The world needs more songs with robotic voices. If you like movies about about robots/machines/computer taking over, like Matrix, Terminator, and iRobot, then you should like this funny music video.

Toy Dolls

Here is a fun song from the 80's that I never heard until 2009. My friend Mike played this awesome song for me at a BBQ I was having. Thanks Mike. Whoooooo!

They have lots of silly punk songs, like the Dead Milkmen. Here is one about Asthma

Head by Herm

This interesting video was suggested to me by Herm. It's from his debut album Monsters. For more info visit www.herm.tv Good song, kind of reminds of a the Eels and Wilco.

Thanks Herm. Rock on!

Benga & Coki - 'Night'

This is a simple little dance song, but it's my favorite song of the week.

Con Men - Assurance

A quaint video montage of the future from the past. Suggested to Musability by Tom, thanks Tom.
